Weve had the WT1201CV Washer and dryer set for 15 years and loved them. Huge tub love the style color and cycles. Not sure why LG doesnt offer these graphite colors any longer as I do not want black or white. Recently it is throwing the DE code so the washer is on the fritz and will not start or continue the load. We replaced the door lock mechanism pump and supports inside. Also replaced 2 main boards and we still get the DE code so it is not the main board nor the door lock itself but maybe a piece in between. The door closes and locks as you can hear it lock and if you physically try to open it is clearly locked but we are still showing the DE code. Will fill with water and eventually drain but will not wash as de continues to flash. Frustrating as the door is in fact locked and it is not the main board.

I was charged for a warranty repair $417.30 labor fee alone to replace the motor which was supplied for free under LGs warranty. The technician spent only 15 minutes replacing the motor which was supplied by LG for free. If you calculate the hourly labor charge I was made to pay that comes out to 4 times $417.30 which is $1669.20 an hour Paying $417.20 for 1/4 hours labor is outrageous I hired Abes Appliance to do the repair because when I called LG suggested them as 1 of 3 service providers they said were certified to do the job as LG certified. I was told when I called Abes Appliance that they would charge me $155 to come out to assess the problem and that $155 would be applied to the labor cost should any work be needed. They ordered the part that LG supplied for free under warranty and then I was told to pay the remainder of the $417.30 and told that I can only pay by Zelle or check. They refused to take credit cards for payment the first or second time they came to the house. I believe that I should have only paid $155 for the initial visit because that $155 would have easily covered the labor charge of 15 minutes work. I called Abes about 7 times with no response. so I was forced to stop payment on the second check. Theyve already been paid $155 which is more money than they should have gotten for the 15 minutes worth of work they performed.

The bottom agitator broke off and was floating on top of the clothes. Called for service thinking it was covered under their 10yr drum warranty but it wasnt. The price they quoted to fix it was more than half the cost of a new machine. We bought a new one from a different manufacturer.

I am very happy with my LG front control washer. It makes it so easy when my son helps me because he can easily use the controls. This feature is great and I wish LG would bring this back. In fact the front control feature is the reason my son wants to help with every load of laundry he likes the buttons and the little chimes they make. Honestly the washer is very quiet as its cleaning the clothes we love it.

Bought this 8 years ago which is back in 2014 this was a good Washing machine to use except a year ago it started having problems with the balancing loads as I was too lazy to get it fixed. It does the UE error even though the loads is balanced however this year we got a new front load machine however it is a non-LG product. It was a good time having your washing machine product but its time I only use the product for the TVs
Also a photo will be sent as example of what problem I had with the load.

I bought this from the Brick in Nov 2012 . It has always worked fairly well but the centre piece of drum always appeared loose and just not right. The tub support has now worn down the bolt part and flies off when spinning out Very very dangerous.

Im so disappointed in this machine AND the dryer I simply dislike them.
Its supposed to have a large capacity yet the second we add jeans or towels to the load it shows a UE code. When UE code is activated the washer will add a rinse cycle to an already 1 hour long cycle to try to rebalance. That often does not change anything and we have to move the wet stuff around the washer ourselves and then the washer might want to add another rince cycle if its still not happy with the way the wet clothes are distributed. Sometimes have to remove soaking wet jeans and towels for it to spin. Oh sure you might say put less in there but one cycle already takes a whole hour if all goes well There is no way this is high capacity I once tryed washing my queen blanket using the bedding setting and it scratched the blanket open leaving the plastic top part of the washer all used up
I also have to say that I find this washer to use WAY too much water especially when it keeps adding rinse cycles to calibrate itself not very energy efficient as I have a well and pump not to mention waste of drinkable water.
I cant affort to replace it at this time so I do try to make smaller loads but I wont leave the house if its running for sure.
As for the dryer sensors say things are dry when some are still damp. Cant get it to continue to dry as it relies on the sensors to stop. ...

Bought the matching LG washer dryer set Dec 2016. The washing machine spin cycle recently stopped working. LG certified tech came to the house to diagnose the situation. He did some research and he made a call to LG it was believed to be a sensor issue. However it was mentioned that actual electronic board could be an issue as well. Just to get the part and replace the sensor the cost was almost half of what you would pay for a new washing machine. Because of the uncertainty between the sensor and computer board we made the decision to purchase a new washing machine. There was a fair deal on another brand washing machine so we made the purchase and had it delivered and installed. Because of the coast of the part and repair it seemed to make sense but unfortunately we no longer have a matching washer dryer set or even the same brand.

Weve owned this for 8 years now. Within the first couple years we had one of the fill valves in the back leak. It was fixed but we had to pay for it so that wasnt great for such a new washer. Outside of that it has been solid with the exception of some periodic odor from the tub. You need to run clean cycles on this washer on a regular basis to avoid that. Not the washers fault but be sure you do this. The only other issue we have is ergonomic rather than the washer not performing. It has a deep tub so if you are short or your spouse is short you need a stool to reach the bottom of the tub. All that said after the fill valve issue it has been a solid washer with no major concerns. It cleans well and washes a lot of clothes sheets or whatever you throw at it and does a good job.

Unfortunately this machine takes nearly 3 hours to run a simple load of wash. It is always off balance then after you balance it restarts the process all over. The quick wash feature should take 35 minutes to wash but it takes 3 hours. Will never buy another smart machine again.

Owned this for 2 years and my very old agitator washer did a better job cleaning and was faster. The balancing technology is horrendous. It is rare for the machine to make it all the way through a cycle without halting and having to manually rebalance and restart despite 2 years of trying different ways to ensure it stays balanced. Takes 2-3 hours for simple wash. The large tub size without agitator would be awesome if it actually worked. The cleaning is hit and miss.

Washer came with our house. We been using it around 1 year and 6 months. The washer is approximately 5 years old.
I am so disappointed in this machine. This is the worst washing machine I ever used or owned. The problem is that the machine very rarely knows how add the proper amount of water. Since there is no manual water setting we must rely on the automatic water leveling. More often than not the water is way too shallow and clothes come out dry with soap blatches. Other times it will totally fill the tub with a few items.

We have had numerous issues with water covering clothes. Clothes do not come out clean regardless of size of load. Our biggest issue is that the top of washer body has been cracking. We have great concern being that the washer is in second floor. Yes we have an appropriate supported floor and at year 3 the cracks appeared and was not supported under retailer warranty. We dont have unbalance issues so that couldnt be blamed on the body cracks on top.

heres a typical wash day. Large load. Water does not cover clothes...Use bulky setting until enough water is in tub. Turn off Unplug Turn on select Cotton/normal press start. Come back 40 minutes later and the machine has re-filled the rinse cycle and is back up to 30 minutes I think...this was a week ago. Spins again gets down to 9 minutes stops and refills again spins again gets down to 9 seconds and refills and spins again. OK now we are into 2 hrs into this so I decide to use the spin only cycle...gets down to 7 seconds then starts to refill itself again. So I redistribute the clothes start the spin only cycle again and it does it again. I try one more time...it does it again. I give up and put the laundry in the dryer. This wasted 3 hrs of my Saturday and at least 4 tubs of water. AND GUESS WHAT?...IT STILL DOES A LOUSY JOB WASHING THE LAUNDRY I hate the people who came up with the idea of a Smart Machine

I have not had any issues until recently. We replaced a part that was supposed to fix it. I was not spinning and would stick on the OE. Now it wont cycle through the spin cycle now. Not sure how to fix it and I have kids that are athletes so I need my washer.

We bought our washer and dryer five years ago we had absolutely no problem with the dryer the washer different story the agitator was stripped could not get a part for weeks one and a half years later the machines code for unbalancing keeps going on the washer will not go through the full cycle and we cannot find a service person that will work on it not very happy and no response from LG

The washer does not spin the clothes dry with out going out of balance. Then it fills with water again agitates the clothes and tries to spin again. I have attempted 8-10 spins and just given up and threw the wet clothes in the dryer after ringing them out myself. I HATE this washing machine. If I could lift it by myself it would be in our dumpster.

Two basic complaint issues - one in its effort to conserve water it never fills enough to cover the clothes. To resolve this I have to choose the bulky items setting which fills the washer all the way even though a total fill wasnt necessary but Im out of options. The picture Ive included is of 2 light weight puppy beds one on top of the other well into the wash cycle. Assuming more water than even that I put in soap. But as you can see the bottom bed isnt even covered so there is far too much soap for 3 inches of water. This is typical. And two the out of balance spin is over sensitive. It seems it really has a hard time with anything other than clothes like small throw rugs and it is always out of balance. I would not choose this washer again.

Ive had this machine for 4 years.
1. It doesnt have an oxi-clean dispenser. The LG customer service representative said they do not recommend the use of oxi-clean in the machine at all. Thats a shame because...
2. If doesnt clean clothes. My husbands clothes come out still smelling like cologne and deodorant. All of our towels are dingy and have streaks and stains on them even when washed in hot water with bleach.
3. The chrome rim under the water dispenser frequently gets pink mildewy crud on it even though we leave the lid open.
4. The machine frequently has trouble staying balanced with a normal load of laundry and after some very loud banging it stops fills again sloshes around and then attempts to drain and spin. We have to babysit each load in case this happens.
5. Sometimes during the rinse cycle the drum will rotate once hesitate rotate again hesitate and repeat this process without draining the water until we press the Pause/Start button to reset it. More laundry babysitting
This machine makes laundry a nuisance. I can see why its been discontinued.

Purchased as a matched washer/dryer pair mostly based upon Consumer Reports and user reviews. Washer is an average middle-of-the-road performer. Makes a lot of noise especially loud click sounds with every back-and-forth agitation in wash/rinse mode. Seems to clean okay. Would be nice to have an extra-water-level override like the newer LG models have. Would not purchase again compared to other LG and other brand models.
