Craft ice maker stopped working

Now 127 days with no craft ice maker. It quit at 8 months old and still under warranty. LG affiliated repair company has been out 5 times and cant fix it. LG wants me to keep letting the appliance repair people work on it. Every time they do it costs me a half day of work.

Two Compressors failed in 7 years

Ive had this LG refrigerator for 7 years and it has been a major disappointment. The first compressor failed after just one year. Thankfully I purchased it from Costco which gave me a two-year warranty so that repair was covered. However the second compressor failed after six years of use. I contacted LG to see if they would offer a discount on the repair fee but they declined. In total Ive spent over $2000 and the experience has been frustrating. The advertised 10-year inverter linear compressor warranty is misleading because it only covers the partnot the labor. The labor costs are significant so dont assume youre protected. Beyond the compressor issues there were other problems during its lifetime: Door alignment shifted over time. Seals had to be replaced. Ice started building up on the freezer frame after about 34 years likely due to a failed evaporator fan. Overall this refrigerator has been unreliable and costly to maintain. I do not recommend it.

Dented Fridge Careless/Improper Installation

The actual refrigerator may not be worthy of 1 star although I deeply regret buying this model and buying from LG. It was disappointing that it arrived with multiple dents on the front panel. When contacting LG I was told I had 2 options accept compensation for accepting it damage but did not tell me the amount of compensation or replace the unit. After having it for a few weeks our family does not like the model. Specifically on the fridge the door slams maybe an instal issue the lower compartments are not deep enough for bagged frozen fruit to stand upright adequately. The crushed ice is difficult to contain in a glass/cup and ends up with pieces on the floor. However my biggest issue is the lack of response and responsibility from LG regarding a poor and careless install that has done thousands of dollars in floor damage. I have called and emailed with details and send supporting photos and videos.

Compressor failure

Like many had a compressor failure at 6 years old. While the compressor is supposedly still under warranty LG still charged me $400+ to get it fixed. Otherwise nice features one feature missing is that the actual temperature cannot be displayed only the temperature setting which of course is not helpful when trying to identify if the unit is working properly.

Delivery service is despicable. They call me day before delivery and give me a 1-3 p.m. window. They text me the next day 10 minutes till start of window stating that my delivery is scheduled for 2 days later. JUST LIKE THAT And the guy who originally called with the appointment refuses to answer the phone. LG should hire a more responsible and respectful carrier. Anyway I still dont have my refrigerator. And customer service has responded yet.

Great Fridge but not great ice

Does LG sell an in-freezer ice maker addition for this model? We run out of ice constantly because the door dispenser holds so little ice. I cannot believe that a giant fridge like this only makes enough ice for drinks for a dinner for four -- once.

Ive come to the conclusion that this refrigerator and most LG products are now complete trash I just cant believe a few years into owning this refrigerator. The amount of things that have gone wrong with it or broken on it. The waterline constantly has a slow drip from the front of the roof refrigerator Door seal has gone bad constant state of inconsistent temperatures throughout the fridge have already had to replace the compressor on it After a terrible experience with an LG washing machine and now this I dont think Ill ever buy another LG product

Faulty new fridge and terrible support

LG delivered this fridge dats ago and the door had a dent. The delivery guy also noted that and took pictures for reference. The ice maker wasnt working on this brand new refrigerator. We had a video chat with a tech in less than 24 hours of receiving this and realized the freezer door was pushing the ice maker switch off. The tech told us its faulty and the door needs to be replaced. Then the water dispenser is dispensing water at room temperature. I have called LG multiple times for replacement now 4 days later and I am still waiting as all the tech support people says they will automatically reach out to me. Also the fridge was supposed to be delivered on September 8th 2025 but LG didnt ship it out until 10th and it got delivered on 12th. So the rep told me that she will process a $100 credit for inconvenience. But 24 hours later when we noticed issues with the ice maker and water dispenser I called lg again for replacement and was told that I got $100 as credit so they cannot send me replacement????? First they delay the delivery from the promised day then offer a credit and then send a dented and faulty unit and for that Im told no replacement in a brand new unit? I told them keep the $100 but send me a fully working unit. Still waiting.. terrible customer service. I shouldve bought the Samsung.

Do NOT Recommend LG Fridge

I heard about LG brand that it is not good and durable. But I realized when we bought 4 door refrigerator. Since we have bought there is an ongoing problem. First with ice maker it stopped working. Then compressor and now condenser blown off within a month. Since fridge was not working for a week during our absence all food and expensive medicines went bad. Refrigerator was stinking badly. Its unusable and LG customer service states that as long as fridge is working they cant replace even though its unusable. It is stinking badly for 1 week. Smell is not going away. I cant use it. There is no solution from LG. I do NOT recommend LG brand refrigerators Horrible experience

Total garbage. DO NOT BUY ANY LG REFRIGERATIOR As is well known the compressor failed. LG sent an authorized technician who replaced the compressor. One week later that one failed. Now they are having delays in getting another one. I have lost all of my food twice. Called LG and they said tough luck.

Be careful before you buy an LG Refrigerator They dont Stan behind their product I also just bought an LG washer and dryer and 60 inch TV. I will never buy LG products again. Weve had nothing but trouble with the refrigerator since we got it. A new left side French Door because water line and the water dispenser didnt work new compressor the we had to shell out almost $500.00 out of pocket when they knew they were having issues. The supposed 10 year warranty apparently isnt what you think it is. Now the coil is leaking Freon. Im nowhere near 10 years. I suggest you read all reviews and carefully research and consider before buying an LG refrigerator. Ive also lef reviews on Google and Consumer Reports

LG tech pronounced fridge is inoperable

I owned this refrigerator for ~ 5 years. Just had LG tech tell me the fridge cannot be fixed. Replaced the compressor and condenser. This is is 2nd visit by technician. Now the issue is the piping internally is leaking coolant. Why are the lines leaking- corrosion? No idea. There are lawsuits against LG due to early failure rates on their fridges. Beware

WARNING - Dont pay LG for repair service

Please learn from my mistake...when the compressor in this model ultimately fails which it will its just a matter of how soon after you buy it and how many times DO NOT pay to have LG come and service it. I loved this refrigerator which was why I decide to pay to have LG service it after the compressor failed for the second time and it was past the initial 3 years. BIG MISTAKE The technician replaced the compressor dyer coil and updated the board. That repair lasted all of two weeks before it failed again and all the food in my refrigerator spoiled while I was on vacation. I immediately reported the problem long story short 3 weeks later and I still waiting for a technician to be located that can come and confirm it is not repairable before LG will honor the 90 repair warranty and refund my $420.14 repair fee. I have spent countless hours in follow up a whole day off work waiting for a repair technician that never came and now three weeks later no closer to resolution. My only option seems to be to dispute the charge with my credit card company so I can go out and buy a replacement that will not be from LG. Save yourself some time energy and $. If this model fails dont bother trying to repair it - you will be sorry and will waste money you could put toward a replacement.

When it worked I really liked this fridge. It has a nice large capacity and does not feel cheap when you open and close the doors like some other manufacturers. The problem however that mine is a lemon. It has had the compressor condensor coil and computer board replaced twice most recently a month ago. That repair only lasted less than 3 weeks before the fridge failed again while I was on vacation. I came home on 7/19 to a fridge full of rotten food - the food I had purchased to replace all the food I had to throw away less than a month earlier when the fridge failed while I was working a very long shift at work. I immediately called LG on 7/19 to request that my repair fee of $420.14 be refunded so that I could just go out and put that toward the purchase of a new fridge as this one is clearly defective. I was told the only way I could get the fee for the failed repair refunded was to have a technician come out and evaluate the fridge to determine if is was in fact not repairable. $420 is a lot of money to me money I could put toward another fridge so I reluctantly agreed. I was told a service technician would be coming out on 7/30 and to be home and available between 8-5 for the service. On 7/29 I called LG to confirm the technician was still coming as I had never heard anything from the technician confirming the service date and time. Bear in mind I have not been without a working fridge in my kitchen since 7/19. I was told that the technician would be there and to be available on 7/30. On 7/30 I called LG again at 9:30 as I had still not gotten any communication from the technician with a window of time they would arrive. I was told again by LG Customer Service the technician was coming and I would get a call from them 30 minutes before they arrived. I waited at home all day never hearing anything. I called again at 4:20 pm and this time was told the technician was not coming the appointment had been cancelled on 7/21 but no one had called texted or emailed me to let me know. At this point I am livid. I was forwarded to a supervisor I asked again to please refund me the money I paid for the failed service so that I can just go out and buy a new fridge. At this point I have not faith in the fridge and have lost faith the LG will do anything to make things right. The supervisor assured me that I would be getting assistance from the Presidential Support team. 7/31 - I receive a VM and text from an agent from the Presidential support team telling me they would be sending a technician to my house and would call me next week to make sure they had arrived. This is simply not acceptable. I call again. This time I am told a Warranty Service company would be contacting me to come and service the fridge tomorrow. I again just ask that this be made right either replace this clearly defective fridge or refund my $ so I can go buy a NOT LG fridge. I am told I need to wait for a technician to certify that my fridge is not repairable. This agent was at least kind and empathetic to my plight. I then get a call from the Service Warranty Company telling me they cant come and service my fridge because they dont have any technicians with the proper certification and they dont know why LG keeps sending referrals to them. I am not making this up - this is truly the run around I have been getting. Its frankly exhausting and I have lost all hope that this will be made right. The worst part is that prior to this experience I was a fan of LG appliances and have other LG appliances in my home. When the fridge was repaired the first time a couple years ago I had A good experience and was only without a fridge for a few days. Based on what I have experienced my opinion has changed. Learn from my experience and save yourself time energy and stress and just buy from another company. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I somehow get a satisfactory resolution I will come back and update this post but I dont have a lot of faith at this point.

Fridge works well but water dispenser paddle kept getting stuck and soaking whomever was using it to fill up water. One morning I came downstairs and it was dispensing water all over our kitchen floors which created damage. We have not used the water dispenser again and shut off the water to it.

Product: LG Refrigerator Purchased 2 years ago Issue: Ice maker fan motor failed no warranty coverage Very disappointed with LG. After only two years the ice maker fan motor failed on my refrigeratorjust outside of the 1-year warranty. I called LG support and was told it would cost $399 just to have someone come out and diagnose the problem with repairs being extra. Thats outrageous. For a premium brand I expected better quality and a longer-lasting product. Fridges should last a lot longer than this especially when youre paying top dollar. Theres no excuse for such an essential part to fail this soon. Bottom line: If youre thinking about buying LG be aware that support is expensive and short-lived. I wont be buying LG again.

The freezer fails to maintain a freezing temperature resulting in the thawing of meats and ice cream and water leakage promotes mold proliferation. Furthermore weve spent $1500 repairing water damage to the floor with additional expenses for replacement components. This refrigerator is ill-suited for households particularly those with children. The LG technician after repeated calls spanning several months finally arrived only to depart leaving the upper control panel with exposed wiring and circuitry. This constitutes unacceptable and frankly appalling customer service. The cumulative expenses from discarded groceries mold remediation and replacement parts have surpassed the initial cost of the refrigerator itself. the capacity is also big but b/c its slading the hinge starts to stop working and you have to replace that The shelving can be so diffult b/ i can only fit 1 carton of milk how about juice???

Bought model LMXS28626S from Costco few years ago. LG has deep discount on this model right now beware Capacity and compartments are good size but the interior design is useless if the fridge does not work. Few months after the installation the compressor died. A local LG authorized dealer replaced the compressor under warranty parts+labor. The tech said this was a common issue with LG refrigerators. Fast forward a few years the compressor and PCB board brain of the fridge died fridge stopped working. LG unable to tell me what is covered under warranty until a tech comes out to diagnose the issue. LG offers a flat rate $399+tax repair program in lieu of a well manufactured product. Had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth in food spoilage. Add that to the cost of the repairs and you are out thousands. Would not recommend this brand/model.

I have purchased 4 refrigerators in my lifetime and this model is one of them. It was by far the worst refrigerator Ive ever purchased. I bought it in 2018 and today it stopped working after only 7 years. All my food perished. Ive never had a fridge go out. In fact I have one from the 1990s in my garage. I spent a good two hours on the LG website trying to get connected to a repair service. They cant come out for more than 5 days and they are charging $450.00. I feel like this is a racket. A way to force people into continually paying. If I could I would get rid of this and buy a cheap fridge that isnt computerized. They seem to last a lot longer. Do not recommend LG appliances. I have a washer dryer set I also hate. Full of regret. Website customer service is also poor.

Delivery technician said there was a problem with the water dispenser when he was showing me around the new fridge. OK no water... I havent had the refrigerator two plus weeks and now the compressor has gone out. Had I listened to the reviews I could have saved myself the headache. Lg only wants to replace parts not make you whole. Stay away. Trust me

Bought the LMXS30776 on 11/18/2018. Bought a five year extended warranty. In January of 2023 the freezer quit working. The contracted repair company Platinum Services came to our house seven times between January and April. They finally got it working but the headache of inept service was too much to warrant extending the warranty which expired in November of 2023. It is now January of 2025 and the linear compressor which is warranted for 10 years is still covered. I called LG and was given service vendors who could come and replace the compressor. LG covers the part but not the labor. Average labor cost for replacing the warranted linear compressor is between $850 and $1200. I learned a few things in speaking with repair vendors: 1 Due to the class action lawsuit LG lost they have a universal compressor that is roughly priced at $300.00. They will send as many as you request since they too are known to last only 6-8 months. 2 LG is well aware of this issue but meeting the minimum requirements from the class action suit of covering the faulty linear compressor is their primary concern - not customer trust and satisfaction. 3 LG advertises that their appliances should last 20 years - do not believe that. I give two stars because we did really like the fridge while it worked. It should have at least lasted us the 10 years promised for the linear compressor. We shouldnt have trusted that it would last that long. I have been told that the seven years of service we received despite the warranty repairs was impressive for an LG fridge. I am not one to leave reviews and know that LG does not care but I do want to share the experience for those thinking of buying an LG appliance. Do not expect it to last that long.

Do not buy Our brand LG fridge was delivered February 7 2025 and the craft icemaker never worked. LG support is terrible with numerous runarounds. After over 1 month a replacement craft icemaker arrived for a self repair. After waiting 48 hours the craft icemaker does not work. This refrigerator has an internal product defect and LG will not remedy other than a Presidential liaison Alexis. If you are looking for a refrigerator do not purchase this LG product We purchased at Lowes and they cannot help out until LG provides an RA number for a return due to faulty product. I bought this refrigerator for $1926.54 with a $270.00 5 year extended warranty and 1 year into the ownership we have already experienced issues such as the seals breaking and splitting apart and the compressor running extremely loud on occasion while running. Im not impressed for the cost vs. value of the machine. Additionally the ice machine does not keep up with the use of the ice. Ice plus is a joke. It does not increase the amount of ice it can create when it is on. Its just a light that turns on to create a placebo affect for the consumer as far as Im concerned. If I had the option I would have made a different choice when purchasing the refrigerator brand when I made the purchase 1 year ago than what I did. Unfortunately this is what Im stuck with. I highly recommend doing your homework before purchasing a refrigerator for yourself and reading reviews on the next purchase before buying an LG refrigerator. They may not be what theyre chalked up to be. Definitely purchase the extended warranty on your product. $270 for 5 years is not a lot of money for the piece of mind to be protected from the faulty parts and product that you may have to deal with as a consumer of LG products.

I recently replaced my 15-year-old LG fridge with this model which feels very similar overall. However I noticed more components are made of plastic so Im unsure if it will last as long. One improvement I do love is the additional freezer drawerit makes food more accessible and easier to organize. Unfortunately the bottom drawer lacks a light which is a disappointing oversight. The ice maker however is a downgrade. The ice frequently gets stuck and has to be manually broken apart which wasnt an issue with my old fridge. I find this most annoying of all since it needs to be dealt with every couple of days. Another inconvenience is the single dispenser buttonyou have to select either ice or water before use unlike my previous model which had separate buttons for each. The old fridge also featured an extra water button on the exterior making it easy to fill larger containers and I really miss that feature. Overall it seems like a decent refrigerator so far after one month but it has some frustrating design flaws compared to my previous model.

Bought about 4 years ago. Like the size but components plastic shelves etc are cheap and break easily. Started rattling and clunking the local store I bought from stated its the condenser but they cant fix it and Id have to work with LG. After MULTIPLE calls to LG spanning several weeks and over 10 hours on hold or chatting with representatives who all had different info that was not shared from phone call to phone call or put in noted even though I was given a case number was told it wouldnt be under warranty even though that specific part is 10 yr warranty because they havent confirmed thats the true issue. But wont send anyone to confirm. Last call was told within a day Id be contacted by the out of warranty department to schedule maintenance that was over a month ago and Ive never received a call but they keep sending me these emails to review so here you go

We bought this LG refrigerator in 2020 and its worked perfect until mid-December of this year 2024. The compressor failed and with a little research I learned LG had been sued over compressor issues. LG agreed to provide a replacement compressor and later agreed to cover the labor as well. LG fixed our refrigerator and it has been working fine now for 3 weeks with fingers crossed. I will have to say LG was extremely responsive and made sure our issue had been resolved. I cant believe Im saying this but I think I would buy another LG refrigerator based on LGs efforts to resolve our issue. My understanding is they have gotten rid of the bad compressors.

I bought a month ago and when delivered there was a dent in the right hand door. I was presented with options and choose to have a replacement sent. The original had an annoying feature whereby the 2 freezer drawers would not stay open unless held making it inconvenient to load and unoad. One drawer actuall closed on my wifes hand. Fortunately the replacement unit did not have this problem. Wish there was a light on the lower freezer drawer
