Faulty Installation and LG say TOO BAD FOR YOU

Product was delivered 7.23.25 and installed I paid LG $159.99 to install and today 8.30.24 I opened the dishwasher and the whole dishwasher fell forward when I pulled the bottom rack out. It it wasnt for the cabinet and countertop the dishwasher wouldve fell on me. I called LG customer service who told me its been more than 30 days to no warranty. Are you kidding me If a dishwasher is installed properly it should last the life of the product not 5 weeks. I spoke with 4 different people who all refused to let me speak with a supervisor. LG website says installations are guaranteed for 1 year. I am so angry.

Middle rack broke within 1 week

Installed a week ago. Already the middle rack is stuck and is very difficult to open and close. Little metal beads ball bearings? have popped out of it and I think one may have even gone into the drain pump. Based on other reviews this seems like a common issue. The drain hose is also very thick making it almost impossible to install flush in a standard size cabinet.

The worst dishwasher I ever owned

LDTH7972S purchased on 9/29/2023. Started actively using it in December of 2023. In a year in April 2025 start getting OE error message technician could not figure out what was wrong. Had to record video with error message code. Control board and a pump were replaced at a cost of $349. In May 2025 dishwasher start making terrible noises but still working. Today 7/27/2025 it stopped working. Dead. Dont buy LG dishwashers. Going back to reliable Bosch

Leaks through door

I really dont care about all the features or how well it clean at this point but it leaks at the door and damaged my wooden floor. This happened since day one but doesnt happens all the time. After many trials and errors I discovered that when the middle rack is put in the lower position the spaying arm under the rack sprays directly at the left side door once every rotation causing water to go pass both layers of rubber seal. The spraying arm is not symmetry. The holes and the end of one side shoot directly outward but on the other side is about 45 degree clock wise and up. So the problem doesnt occur on the right side door only the left side. If I place a bowl facing down at the left corner the problem goes away. If I lift the middle rack up the problem goes away I wonder how this design could pass testing Even though during wash cycle the machine is quiet it creates loud noise when draining. I have tried moving drain pipe different ways but since I have limited space at the rear I could not get rid of the noise.

Buyer Beware Do not buy LG dishwashers

Purchased dishwasher December 2024. 4 months later April 2025 the wheel on the lower rack broke off. Also found ball gearings in bottom of appliance due to jamming issues with the slider racks which support middle rack. Appliance store replaced the wheel both racks on May 8 2025. One week later the sliders broke again were jammed. I could not close dishwasher rack did not pull completely out. More ball bearings dropped in bottom of tank. Serviceman confirmed the issue said this dishwasher has issues with the racks. They ordered 2 more I am waiting for the parts to arrive so we can schedule a 2nd repair. This dishwasher is only 4 months old I am ready to have them remove it since it is not reliable DO NOT PURCHASE LG DISHWASHERS

I paid $1000 for the unit and 1 1/2 years later Im looking at around $400 to fix it Dishwasher is only 1 1/2 years old - purchased 10/6/23. The unit will start blinking random lights and beep constantly during cycles. Sometimes it even turns itself on. Happened while writing this A quick google search seems to indicate a bad control board - a popular issue with these dishwashers. Contacted customer support today its out of full warranty but theyre willing to schedule a service for $400 upfront which includes all parts and labor Asked if it happens to be the control board since thats supposed to have 2 year warranty how does that work. The price includes all parts and labor. Tried looking online for a parts diagram but you cant find the parts diagram on the LG website. Another review indicated same issue and that the unit is to new for parts availability. The control boards you can find are around $250 but say they dont fit this model. Contacted a local Authorized Repair Center that LG gave me the number for. Its $119 to diagnose they have to submit to LG for authorization wait for approval then wait for part and then whatever labor they quote to fix. Who wants to guess whether LG will actually approve the warranty repair? It was a nice dishwasher while it worked but has very poor quality. I never had any issues with WHIRLPOOL for 10 years and would recommend them.

Stopped working

Paid approximately $1500 for this dishwasher only to have it stopped working almost exactly two years to the day later the display panel does not work and has to be replaced however its still new enough that you cant find the exact part match. Ridiculous You dont spend that kind of money for it to only work for two years.

Middle rack is faulty design and cleaning is no better than my old dishwasher. The middle rack has broken twice now the first time it took over one month to get repaired. The ball bearings call out and the drawer close not close/open. The cleaning is not particularly good either.

Do not buy this model. The fancier enclosed rail system for the top rack has broken 3 x in 1 month on me. We are not animals. We know how to open a dishwasher. It shouldnt be this sensitive to open the top rack without the rail system jamming up and needing to be replaced. We regret buying this model.

Replacement Part Difficulty

LG LDTH7972S dishwasher bought from Home Depot. Installers were barely adequate but I verified everything was to specification. From day 1 the upper rack was very difficult to use. This model has no wheels on the rack but uses a side mounted telescoping cabinet style assembly. I could see deformed plastic and a ball bearing out of position. The Chat Bot was helpful and ordered replacement parts but they sent an entire dish rack incorrect for my model instead of the two rail glides. Having trouble using the website to look up specific part numbers associated with this model. The specific model does not come up during search. Frustrated.

Does a great job. Has so many features our previous dishwasher didnt have suck as the 3rd rack the jets in many directions for more you should just read the features on their site. Been working like a charm except the water flow valve failed and was replaced under warranty and has been great since. Id buy it again.

Awesome Machine with 1 major Flaw

We purchased this from Home Depot on sale after Black Friday for about $788. It took about 3 weeks to get delivered on Dec 21st. All went well with install and we were very exited to have such a nice new dishwasher to replace our old GE which was working fine but felt wed better replace it since it was 17 years old. Also we bought a fridge at the same time so they offered additional discounts for 2 products. First the positives. Its a very well made machine with lots of features. It even has a good positive feel when opening and closing the door. other brands didnt It is super quiet in most modes. A little louder with the steam it seems. I love the adjustability of the top and middle racks and that you can lay down all the tines sorry dont know what they are called so you can place big things in without bending them. We definitely noticed an improvement in how clean the dishes got. Have not had to rewash anything yet. Overall this has been a great machine for the 3 weeks weve owned it with the exception of 2 things. Which is why it got 3 stars vs 5 stars My 2 negatives with this machine. When the machine was installed it had to be screwed in on the sides because the countertop is granite and cant use those brackets. It got loose and it seems that you cant tighten too much because you might damage the machine. Those 2 plastic plugs for the holes on the side kept coming out. Luckily I was able to fine them on the floor. I have not figured out how to keep them in so they are out for now because I dont want them on the floor. The second and more frustrating thing is the middle rack. About a week after it was delivered the slides started binding. I looked closer and saw the plastic cage that holds ball bearings started to grab the rail and deform. It has gotten pretty much unusable. We cant slide it out more than about 6-8 inches. One of the balls popped out and Im worried more will come out and go into the motor. I went on LGs site to do a repair request. The only way was to use the chat. almost impossible to find a phone number to talk to a person. I went through the chat and even though I was logged in and had all my product info registered the chat still asked for info I knew that had. We eventually came to the conclusion that LG would send me a new middle rack assembly with the slides. I though great I can get this fixed soon. Well It been 2 weeks and no part has arrived no e-mail about when it will ship or even a confirmation that they sent it. I called the other day finally found a phone number to a live person and they told me it was processing but couldnt tell me what the delay was or when it would ship. Only said to call back in a few days if I didnt hear anything. So thats where Im at right now. Ill probably call again today but for a very nice new expensive machine this is a frustrating weak point. Hopefully after I get the new part I will not have any further problems. may update my review in a little bit

Have had the dishwasher for about two weeks now and have run about 10 loads. It is noisy My previous dishwasher was much quieter. If this is a 42db Id hate to hear the other models. Inside dimensions seem smaller than my previous dishwasher of another brand. Cant load as many dishes as before. The door has twice popped open mid cycle. The angles of prongs on the top rack for glasses is odd making it difficult to find good placement to keep them from bumping each other. Cant tell the dynamic dry makes any difference- plastics are still wet even with using the extra boost dry feature. It would be nice if the silverware holder was in two pieces so I could choose to use all or half. The inside light is a nice addition.

Very Quiet Dishwasher

We purchased this dishwasher a few weeks ago and have enjoyed it. Very quiet while washing. Loading is nice with the third top rack which allows for the lids to our insulated tumblers and food storage containers. We also like that the bottom shelf has sections of the support pieces that will lay flat if you want to wash larger items. The only thing I have found to be a challenge is the silverware tray on the bottom rack. The openings are all the same size which do not allow for certain items we typically wash in this area such as our reusable straws or the handles to the knives from our silverware set. The knives do fit well on that third top rack. I may try to take the lid off one section of the silverware tray to allow for items that are larger in size than the openings on the lid allow.

I bought this dishwasher 3/2023 and I already had to pay $300 to have an LG repair man to come out and fix a leak. I saw that my hardwood floor started warping and I had no idea why until I saw water coming from underneath this dishwasher during a cycle. The leak seemed to be happing underneath the unit right in the middle. Of course it is only a 1.5 years old so it out of warranty so I had to pay $300 for a repair man to come out since I didnt buy the extended warranty. Silly me expecting an 1K appliance to last more than a year and not ruin my floors. I would not recommend this product to anyone and if I could give zero stars I would.

I love my new dishwasher. It has all the extra features that I wanted. I didnt buy the most expensive choice but I certainly did not buy the least expensive. I have been watching the price of this dishwasher for a year and Black Friday of this year was a really good deal. I love how it gets every dish clean and nothing has to be washed before going into the dishwasher. The hook up was a little challenging for my friend since my old dishwasher was a completely different old model. They need to include in the instructions the different sizes of hookups we had to go to the hardware store and buy a couple extra pieces but was not sure on the sizes. And when we called LG support all they was worried about was my name address email etc... I think they need to work a little bit on the water discharge hose. When you push the dishwasher back into the spot the hose will not allow it to go far enough to make it flush. 5 Stars because it is so quiet.

Terrible product and customer service

. I was forced to buy another dishwasher due to the lack of communication from the LG Presidential Team Katelyn. The dishwasher was purchased on August 15 2023 and it stopped working for the first time in September 2024. A service technician came out and repaired it informing us that this was a known issue with the product. However the dishwasher stopped working again in November 2024 just before Thanksgiving. We contacted LG and a service call was issued. A local service technician came out but did not have the necessary parts. He returned on December 6 2024 and repaired the dishwasher but it broke down again the very next day December 7 2024. We contacted LG once more but customer service repeatedly hung up on us. I reached out to the Presidential Team only to encounter a similar attitude. I was promised return calls several times but none were fulfilled. Most recently I was promised an answer by Tuesday which also never materialized. I was not provided with any direct means of contact and my attempt to use the Email the President feature yielded no response. Left with no other option I had to purchase a new dishwasher.

The unit was a replacement for a failed dishwasher. It has a leaking rinse dispenser and we are awaiting a replacement dispenser. As of this moment we cannot give a satisfactory rating. Once this problem is corrected well provide a rating.

We ended up buying mostly LG appliances when moving to a new house last year. I actually thought this was one of the better ones we had from LG but maybe now after a year not so much. My main gripe for usage is the tines in the racks. The top rack for glasses and bowls is ok I dont like how the bowls lay in it. However the bottom rack needs more flexibility and tines. Its setup to mostly use plates. We tend to fill up the top rack before the bottom one and putting glasses or bowls on the bottom there is just not enough support to keep them upright. So we have times where we are running a load with bottom rack partially empty which seems like a bit of a waste. Otherwise the wash options are good it seems to dry okay for us with the dry boost. We do the 1 hour cycle with dry boost for 90 minutes total which seems like a nice balance. You can download different wash cycles only 1 active at a time. But you can rinse only dry only etc. Downloading updates works ok not great. The dishwasher needs to be on. I usually crack open the door to turn it on then start a download but the dishwasher will sometimes timeout and turn itself off before it completes. The rack layout is a minus 1 star. The other star deductions are because the dishwasher has been acting up since its been out of the 1 year warranty. When its off it will randomly beep and all the lights come on. When its mid cycle it randomly beeps and stops washing then turns itself off without finishing the cycle. Not exactly sure why seems according to information online it might be a control board or latch issue. But having multiple appliances fail after 1 year of use from the same manufacturer is just a sign of a lack of quality. Unfortunately we went with LG because it was the most cost efficient when prices were high and now were paying for it with sub par performance.

Worst dishwasher Ive ever owned. Keypad is glitchy has gone out just past a year of owning it. It has leaked on our floor. And when we can get the thing to work its not the best clean either. I got LG cause all my other appliances are that and now I wish Id of went ahead and bought the kitchen aid for same price. :

Do not buy. We were sold a lemon through Lowes and there has been zero accountability from LG to fix the situation. We requested a new machine as our warranty is set to expire in December. We were left with duct tape and a good luck. Customer service is terrible and service techs sent to the house are not properly trained or given the necessary guidance.

We bought this in April 2023 but it was just installed last week so not much use yet. Much louder than expected. Also the black rubber piece with 2 silver screws makes it look unfinished. It should have a stainless steel cover or at least black screws. Looks like a $250 DW instead of the $1200 I paid for it.

have had this a couple of months now and it does a great job. Very quiet. 1 hour wash really takes 50 min. and works very well and heats up the water on its own. I only use normal or auto wash when it is jammed full of dishes. No complaints on the drying.

This dishwasher does an excellent job of cleaning dishes/glasses/pots/pan/silverware/etc. Easy to understand and use the various features which you can tailor to the job at hand. An added plus it is very quiet when in operation in fact you almost can t tell it is running unless you get close and listen carefully. Its interior design is practical/functional/very accommodating to all kitchenware. The exterior design is sleek and attractive.

This dishwasher is of such poor quality weve had nothing but problems since it arrived. All of this inside 1.5 years of owning a brand new item. First it is much louder than any 42dBA or even 60dBA dishwashers. the door latch needed to be replaced. Then the inside metal bracket thats attached to the tub which holds the rubber seal broke off. You cannot order a replacement for this piece as it is soldered to the tub so a whole new tub would be needed. Then the bottom rack began to rust and chip away. Now the control panel buttons no longer respond. Its a complete brick. Very disappointed.

Bought the LG dishwasher and had it installed the first week of September. Didnt work out of the box - manufacture defect. Have had a service tech out 4 times already this afternoon will be visit 5. Soft close door isnt matching. Customer service needs to be improved. Not satisfied so far.

Weve had this dishwasher for a few weeks now but have only run it a couple of times. We wash most large pieces pots and pans etc. by hand. I havent tried all the features but I did find that some dishes did not come clean and some stuff was baked on. We usually rinse our dishes pretty well before loading into the dishwasher so I was surprised to find herbs and a greasy film on the salad tongs that were on the upper utensil rack. It is nice and quiet

Hand washing for now 9/26/2024

Once we finally got it installed we ran a load and found that it was not cleaning the dishes. Turns out as a bad motor that had to be replaced which the repairman didnt bring with him on the initial call and return almost a week later to install the motor. We told now that the new motor is in Another part would have to be ordered and installed with a delay of another week. All in all weve had our new dishwasher for over a month and have not been able to use it. Im more frustrated with the fact that we cannot get a service technician to come out to my home at a time thats more convenient for me rather than me having to miss work to get a brand new dishwasher And running condition.
