This fridge has never worked right......The first repair was only 3 months into our purchase, and went on to get repaired another 2 times under the manufacturer warranty.....moving on now under the extended warranty and the repairs continue however the lemon law doesn't apply because the repairs were done under separate policies.....the current repair started on 8/8/19 to date (11/22/19) the repair is still on going, alternate resolution won't even get on the phone with me (cowards) and denied our claim for alternate resolution because we rescheduled 4 times in so far 107 days of this repair, but doesn't consider in that their parts get back ordered and at one point they had marked our repair complete when the fridge was never working....now they want to start replacing parts they already replaced as if there will be a different outcome. IF you buy this product be sure to get the extended warranty as you will surely need it for this piece and don't reschedule any service appointments otherwise they will use the warranty loophole of product accessibility and not back their product, so you will be in the endless loop of service after service and a fridge that still doesn't work.

Fridge is aesthetically pleasing; however problematic. Within 8 months, the water and ice dispenser will not work. Had someone out twice before the year manufacture warranty. Same problem within 2 weeks after warranty ended, yet they wont fix. Called customer service, one person said they could help was on hold then disconnected after 23 minutes. Called back and the next person said no. Not only does quality of product need improvement, but consistency for their training seems to also.

I agonized over my choice for a new fridge. Shoud i get side by side or french door? Which brand is reliable? I read so many reviews and talked to sales people. I am very happy with my choice. The fridge is so much roomier than my side by side and the freezer is fine. It's only been 2 weeks so i can't say how reliabe it is but thier reputation is very good compared to other brands.

Great refrigerator storage and good icemaker

We recently retired an LG refrigerator that was only 6 years old. This unit compares favorably with the LG counter depth refrigerator. It has a larger refrigerator compartment and is laid out well. The icemaker makes ice more efficiently than the LG and the freezer is roughly comparable. One notable deficiency (I think) is that the unit doesn't beep at you if you leave the door open as our prior refrigerator did to remind us we had left the door open.

Third repair in six months

Purchased this fridge in May of 2018 and since April of this year, I've needed three repairs. In April of 2019 the fridge was not cooling to the correct temperature. I called Whirlpool and they sent out a technician that repaired, more like put a bandaid on the issue, over a two week period. Within two months the fridge was not cooling again. So I called a different company, who actually fixed that issue. The second technician explained that the first technician did not do most of the repairs claimed on the invoice, which was not surprising since the same issue occurred. Now I have a leaking fridge (from the bottom and from the inside of the left door) and an ice maker that is making slushies. Do not waste your money on this fridge. I want every dollar I've spent on this junk back.

I bought my Whirlpool about a month ago. So far no concerns or issues. However I have not been able to hook up water and ice feature yet as going through remodel. I like the pull out tray for easy access, especially for serving trays. Right now my only some what dislike is the capacity of the freezer, but we are using on bin for ice right now. I am sure it will help once we get the ice maker hooked up.

I bought this about a month ago and so far so good. This had the most cu. ft. we could find for counter depth with good reviews. We get a lot of use out of the favorite fill and measured fill options on the water dispenser. Makes a few beeps every once in a while but I've gotten used to it. Otherwise never makes much noise. Does seem to be a bit hot on the right side (when looking at it) but no issues with anything and we have enough clearance for proper ventilation.

I have had this version for 1.5 years, within 8 months of having the refrigerator water would spontaneously leak out from the ice chute. I would come home to water all over the floor. Could only turn on for short periods of time and then dump out the ice after using. We had 5 service calls under warranty and after another 8 months of dealing with ineffective repairs Whirlpool agreed to replace it after I paid $650 for the amount of time I had the refrigerator. The first replacement fridge was dented so bad the top was bowed, the second replacement refrigerator was scratched across the front. The third replacement refrigerator never left the factory and I was stuck at home again for the third day of lost work only to find out no one was going to deliver. Not only does Whirlpool produce a poor quality product they have not followed through on supporting the customer. I am still without a working replacement refrigerator and damaged wood floors from a constantly leaking ice machine.

Will not keep your food cold

We bought this refrigerator in December of 2017. After a couple of months we realized our food was not as cold as it should be. We then had 8 different service calls from the place we bought the refrigerator from (they have been amazing). Finally Whirlpool deemed our refrigerator a lemon so they gave us a new refrigerator to replace it (same model number). After a few months of having the 2nd refrigerator the ice maker stopped working. That took several service calls and the replacement of the entire left hand door to fix. Then, after a couple more months this second refrigerator has stopped keeping things cool. We have it set at 35 degrees, but the top shelf continuously hovers around 44. So far we have had 15 service calls and our refrigerator is still not doing its job. It does look nice, and the stainless steel really is fingerprint proof. However, our rusty 40 year old backup refrigerator in our garage works better than this one.

Beautiful appliance. Love the French doors, ice maker in the door, and pull out freezer drawer. Negatives are a tiny ice maker that produces about 8 ounces of cubes at a time with no large storage bin to hold multiple batches. I will need to use ice cube trays. Also the exterior ice dispenser sends out one or two more cubes after you have walked away. Also it is very loud when water refills the ice maker.

I purchased this fridge less than 6 months ago. I'm on my third service call to repair the ice maker. Each service call takes about 2 weeks leaving me with a $3000 + fridge that does not produce ice. Similar to other reviews, we bought this to complete our appliances in a new home. The door handles are uneven which doesn't seem like a huge deal, but I notice it all the time. More importantly, the ice maker is broken on our frig as well. Huge clumps of ice pile up and leave water everywhere. Now we have warped hardwood floors in front of the frig. We have turned off the ice and pulled everything out. The tray is flimsy and cracked in half. We haven't gotten a replacement yet, but assume it will break as well due to the low quality. It is also quite loud. It seems to always be buzzing? It does look nice, but the problems shouldn't be happening.

Starting to regret buying Whirlpool

I ordered this special order counter depth frig in November, and it wasn't delivered until March. It came with a shattered infinity shelf which needed to be replaced. Glass had fallen to the back, which I cannot completely get out. Twenty days later, the ice maker froze up into one big chunk and then as I arrived home from work, there was water everywhere inside and outside the frig. The design of this frig is beautiful, but I'm wondering about the quality of the build. For months, we were buying ice bags because the ice maker on our 20 year-old frig was broken. It looks like we are back to buying ice again. It is completely unacceptable to spend $3000-$4000 on a new frig and end up with an ice maker that doesn't work and a poor quality appliance. I thought the Whirlpool brand meant quality, but I guess not any more. We have a repair technician coming to look at it, but judging from previous reviews, I'm not optimistic. I'm not convinced that Whirlpool really cares about their customers.

I bought this fridge in october 2017 as part of a 4 piece whirlpool appliance suite for our newly renovated kitchen. Did a lot of research about all the appliances we purchased. Upgraded all the appliances to mid-high grade hoping they would be worth the money. This fridge is already showing signs of rusting on the door. The words "water" and "ice" are stickers on the metal. Why they wouldn't etch it in the metal is beyond me. That may sound petty, but when you are asking $4000 for a fridge, i think it requires more than stickers. I could have lived with the cosmetic issues, but all 4 appliances I purchased have broken 13-15 months after installation. The ice maker broke on this at the 13 month mark. I have extended warranty thru best buy, so it got fixed, but i have spoken to whirlpool no less than 10 times about the quality of their appliances and let me tell you, they do not care. If you do buy whirlpool, and i DO NOT recommend it, make sure you buy the extended warranty on all appliances thru whirlpool, because I have all mine thru best buy and whirlpool with not give you the time of day after your 1 year manufacturer warranty is up

Unhappy with New Refrigerator

I bought this refrigerator on 12/29/18. After delivery team came I noticed the doors were not even, the right was higher than left and doors were not sitting flush. Delivery team came back and now right door is lower than left door and sticking out about 1/2 inch from left door. Doors are closing flush. Whirlpool is telling me this is a cosmetic issue and refusing to replace the refrigerator. Why would I want a new refrigerator at that is over $3000 with doors that are misaligned and not sitting flush!

I bought this fridge a year ago. When it shipped, the main module didnt work, so for the first 6 weeks of having my new fridge, it couldnt keep anything cold, but it could light up and dispense water. Then 1 week after the factory warranty expired, the ice maker pulled an essential wire out of the door to power the ice maker. I'm told is a very common problem. So I have been waiting 8 weeks for a replacement door, and on Monday when the door doesnt come in.... I get to wait another 8 weeks. But no worries, the broken door hinge can be installed 2 weeks after the door comes in. For the 68 weeks I've had this fridge for, it hasnt been running correctly for 20.6% of the time. For a $4000.00 fridge, I am not impressed.

Very practical and welcoming fridge

Have had it for two or three weeks. Perfectly fit our cutout. Pro's: 1) Wonderful to see all of the food clearly as it is extremely well lit and... 2) It uses its extra height very well, with essentially an additional shelf in the main area and on the sides and so more is visible. 3) The shelf adjustments in the main area are very practical/innovative. 4) The crispers are nice and tall compared to other fridges, plus a small meat compartment, and the pull-out "platter" area is great for kid snacks. Cons: 1) undeniably noisier than the LG that we first purchased (but that had more depth than we wanted). quite the variety in the noise, 2) after leveling, for some reason the doors did click, 3) is a smaller freezer, and 4) freezer items can inexplicably fall over rear edge that does not go up all the way, and 5) the freezer drawer is not latched and so requires a small tug. All in all, we do like it very much despite the cons.

has a shrill noise

Purchased 8/26/18 but didn't receive until 11/26/18. It makes a constant shrill noise. I should have read the reviews before buying, because it rec'd many poor reviews. Sounds like if it stops working people are waiting for parts and have no working fridge. If this happens we will just buy a diff brand and soak up this expensive loss. Lesson learned the hard way.

I was worried about buying something I couldn't see 1st hand but when it finally arrived I was thrilled! Would give 5 stars if the freezer drawer was designed so it didn't come out when opening freezer. That part is very annoying to me.

We have only had this fridge a few weeks so this review is based mainly on looks and features. So far, we really like this appliance. There is plenty of room inside, even though we have the counter depth. Love the nice quality handles on all the inside drawers, they pull out smooth and easy. Also love the extra plate shelf inside, this is a nice feature that allows for putting large platters on a narrow shelf. This is a good looking fridge with quality features. The ice dispenser is great, it makes small cubes that don't spray everywhere when you fill a glass. So far, we are very happy with our choice from whirlpool

We bought this refrigerator in August and it arrived in December a day before taking a long trip. Either it is in great demand, or the Whirlpool company has not been able to procure the necessary materials to keep the products coming. The Fridge itself is very good looking inside and out. In the few days we have had it, we see no problems. The ice maker is pretty quiet and makes little cubes, good for quick cooling of drinks but bad for long cooling of drinks. So far so god.

I bought this counter depth refrigerator a couple months ago and I couldn't be more pleased. It is very spacious and I love the organization it provides. It is quiet and the ice maker is great. My kitchen is small and the counter depth Whirlpool refrigerator still gives me ample room. I highly recommend this refrigerator!

For decades I was blindly brand loyal to Samsung, but after my most recent debacle with Samsung which consisted of utterly disappointing customer service, lack of integrity, and no local "certified service technicians" (despite living in a major city!), I warily decided to give Whirlpool a try. Even though I had to wait a month for my Whirlpool, it was 100% worth it. The functionality, precision, and thought behind the design is unparalleled. From the moment you plug in this space age appliance, hear the vacuum suction of the doors open, and see the sleek white interior illuminate, you realize immediately this is not grandma's old Whirlpool, but rather the next generation and future of appliances. Being completely forthright, I ignorantly thought an American made appliance was not as superior as those from abroad (Lets be honest, many of us face this consumer bias with cell phones, TVs, cars, etc...). With this refrigerator, it's clear the engineers of Whirlpool thought everything through: the layout is perfect, the tolerance of all movable parts precise, and the performance razor sharp. As we eat many ethnic foods in our household, our Whirlpool generously stocks large dishes, ranging from whole lasagnas to vats of sangria, at the perfect temperature. From this point forward, as a General Contractor who has completed hundreds of kitchen fit-outs, I will definitely recommend Whirlpool refrigerators to my clients. There is no doubt that my refrigerator model is on par with the similar models of "luxury" brands such as Viking, Subzero, etc... I definitely look forward to trying other Whirlpool appliances in the future. Good job Team Whirlpool, keep up the great work in design, innovation, and customer service!

We love this refrigerator!

After just a few weeks of ownership we are delighted with this refrigerator. The counter depth works extremely well in our kitchen, and despite the reduced depth we seem to have plenty of space as compared to our older and deeper Whirlpool refrigerator. The finish is lovely and seems like it will not require a lot of upkeep. The water and ice dispenser works very well and the touch controls for those are well designed and easy to use. The shelving including the freezer bins are well designed. Noise seems no greater than with our old model. My only complaint is with the Whirlpool web site. Although I have registered our 3 Whirlpool appliances and created a personal account, I can't see any indication on the site identifying the specific appliances we own, thus I question the value of having a personal account including a "Dashboard" that tells me nothing about what we own.

Only had it a week, storage good, I am concerned about temperature not keeping at it's setting of 37 degrees, set by Whirlpoo.l It is reading anywhere from 41 to 45 with a good thermometer that displays high and lows in a 48 hr period. Keeping an eye on it, did not contact Whirlpool as of yet.Reading is usually around 42 - 43 degrees

The few inches fewer intrusion into the moderate sized kitchen makes all the difference. Replaced a regular depth Whirlpool side by side with counter depth French door/ lower freezer, and it was definitely worth it.
